Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There is numerous scripture in the bible detailing the resurrection. The scriptures noted below provides valuable insight into the situation surrounding Jesus’ resurrection.

Luke 23:44-47 – “It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

Mark 15:46-47 – “So Joseph bout some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where he was laid.”

Matthew 27:65-66 – “Take guard,” Pilate answered. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.” So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.

Mark 16:5-7 – As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “you are looking for Jesus of Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘he is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’
